Turel

article by Ben Lincoln

Turel was the second of Kain's Vampire Lieutenants. After freeing the Human Citadel from The_Priestess' influence, Raziel would have used his newfound Possession ability to travel to Turel's home, The_Turelim_Clan_Territory and face the last of his brothers.

The dialogue between Raziel and Turel which is still present in Soul Reaver's game data strongly implies that the key to his defeat lay in making use of a nearby source of water, but the details are not presently known. Consuming Turel's soul would have earned Raziel the Amplified_Force_Projectile ability.

When Turel was removed from the game, his dialogue was partially re-used for the mini-boss (described as "Morlock" in some official guides) from who Raziel acquires the standard Force Projectile power. "The Morlock Boss" was Turel's development codename (see Character_Names).

Turel is visible in the opening FMV as one of the lieutenants who throws Raziel into The Abyss, and there is a coffin for him in The Tomb of The Sarafan. Concept art depicts him in his evolved state, but there are no known in-game images of the evolved Turel.

Turel and his gift to Raziel were reintroduced to the series in Defiance.
