Deleted Reaver Forges

As with the four Reavers present in the final version of the game, the three Deleted Elemental Reavers would have been granted to Raziel when he completed the corresponding Forge areas - Water, Earth, and Spirit.

Only a few details have emerged about these excised areas. A few prerelease screenshots depict Raziel with a bright green blade believed to be the Earth Reaver. The screenshots are from an area that does not appear in the final game; this could be the Earth Forge, especially given the colour scheme.

On the floor of the lake outside the Sarafan Stronghold lie the ruins of the Spirit Forge. Its symbol is prominent, and concept art included in the bonus material section of the PS2 release depicts the remains of Elemental Fonts in the same area. It seems clear that Raziel would have needed to travel far into Nosgoth's past to reach the Forge before its destruction. It is also likely that it would have been necessary to make use of the Earth Reaver's special ability of allowing him to walk underwater instead of swimming.

Beyond this, it is reasonable to assume that the three deleted Forges would have continued the trend of large, complex puzzle areas with distinctive architecture for each which was exhibited by the first four. However, the specifics are currently unknown.

Along with the three deleted Reavers, Forges for them were introduced in Defiance. As that game placed more emphasis on combat and less on puzzles, the Forges of Defiance are likely smaller and less distinct than those designed for Soul Reaver 2. On the other hand, Defiance's game world is larger as a whole than Soul Reaver 2's. Had Raziel acquired the Spirit Reaver in this game, he would have done so in close physical proximity to the Time Streaming chamber where its story begins, rather than far across the map.
